In the Doraemon story "The Night Before Nobita's Wedding" (のび太の結婚前夜), Shizuka's father says this to Shizuka on the night before she marries the grown-up Nobita. Shizuka is uneasy about the wedding, and her father first tells her, 「のび太くんを選んだきみの判断は正しかったと思うよ」 ("I think you were right to choose Nobita"). He goes on, 「それがいちばん人間にとってだいじなことなんだからね。」 ("Because that is the most important thing for a human being.").
