使用シーン：
『DEATH NOTE』第1話の最後、デスノートを拾った高校生・夜神月は、死神リュークに「新世界の神となる」と言い放つ。退屈しのぎにノートを人間界へ落としたリュークは、そのとほうもない野望を見て、こう口にする。以後リュークは月のそばで、その行く末を見世物のように楽しんでいく。
At the end of Chapter 1 of DEATH NOTE, Light Yagami, the high school student who picked up the Death Note, tells the death god Ryuk that he will become the god of a new world. Ryuk, who had dropped the notebook into the human world just because he was bored, sees Light's huge ambition and says this line. From then on, Ryuk follows Light and enjoys watching him like a show.
文化的な背景：
漫画第1巻第1話の場面。月の味方でも敵でもなく、ただ退屈しのぎに楽しむ傍観者というリュークの性格がよく表れている。アニメ第1話では「面白っ」と言っている。人の意外な行動に感心したときに、冗談まじりにまねすることもある。
