『DEATH NOTE』
In DEATH NOTE, a "second Kira" sends a video to a TV station, meant to be shown across the country. In it, the sender openly talks about Death Note secrets such as the Shinigami eyes. Watching it, Light Yagami, who is Kira himself, thinks this to himself, afraid that such careless words could get him caught too.
The second Kira turns out to be Misa Amane, who later calls herself Light's girlfriend. The line is also often written Online, it became a set phrase for a person or idea so hopeless it is almost funny, often as a fond tease. It may also be used, half-jokingly, about a friend who keeps making the same mistake, but it can sound rude if said to the person directly.
•「ダメだ」= hopeless, no good. •「こいつ」= this guy (rough). I have to do something.
〜ないと at the end of a sentence means "I have to ~", with いけない left out. こいつ is rude, so use it only about close friends or in your head.
