使用シーン：
初代『ドラゴンクエスト』。沼地の洞窟でドラゴンを倒してローラ姫を助け出すと、姫は城まで連れて帰ってほしいと頼む。「いいえ」と答えると、姫はこう言って同じ質問をくり返し、「はい」と答えるまで終わらない。エンディングで、旅に連れていってほしいと頼む場面でも同じことが起きる。
In the first Dragon Quest, the hero defeats the dragon in the swamp cave and rescues Princess Laura. She asks him to take her back to the castle. If he answers no, she says this and asks the same question again, over and over, until he says yes. The same thing happens in the ending, when she asks to go with him on his journey.
文化的な背景：
「いいえ」を選べても、実際には断れない。この無限ループはプレイヤーの間で有名なネタになり、シリーズのほかの作品にも同じような場面が登場する。救出の場面での表記は「そんな ひどい……。」。頼みごとを断られたときに、冗談で使うこともある。
You can choose no, but you can never really refuse. This endless loop became a famous joke among players, and similar loops appear in later games of the series. When she is rescued, the line is written 「そんな ひどい……。」. It may also be used as a joke when someone turns down your request.
