『化物語』最初の話「ひたぎクラブ」。阿良々木暦が、クラスメイトの戦場ヶ原ひたぎの名前が変わっていると話すと、委員長の羽川翼は名字と名前の由来をすらすらと説明する。感心した阿良々木が「お前は何でも知ってるなぁ」と言うと、羽川はこう返す。二人はそのまま戦場ヶ原の話を続ける。
In "Hitagi Crab", the first story of Bakemonogatari, Koyomi Araragi mentions that his classmate Hitagi Senjogahara has an unusual name. Class president Tsubasa Hanekawa explains where her family name and given name come from. Impressed, Araragi says, "You really know everything, don't you," and Hanekawa replies with this. They go on talking about Senjogahara.

Bakemonogatari is a light novel by NISIOISIN, first published in 2006 and made into an anime by studio Shaft in 2009; Hanekawa is voiced by Yui Horie. The same exchange returns again and again in the Monogatari series and became Hanekawa's signature line. It sounds modest, but Hanekawa really does seem to know almost everything, and that gap is part of the charm. It may also be used as a playful reply when someone praises your knowledge.
