テレビアニメの各話や劇場版の冒頭に流れるナレーションの始まり。新一は、幼なじみで同級生の毛利蘭と遊園地に行き、黒ずくめの男の怪しげな取引現場を目撃したこと、背後から近づいたもう一人の仲間に毒薬を飲まされ、目が覚めたら体が縮んでいたことを語る。

『名探偵コナン』は1994年に連載が始まった青山剛昌の漫画で、テレビアニメは1996年から放送されている。ナレーションは、生きていると奴らに知られればまた命を狙われるため、正体を隠して江戸川コナンと名乗り、父親が探偵をしている蘭の家に転がり込んだ、と続く。言い回しはテレビ版と各劇場版で少しずつ違い、劇場版では作品に合わせて長くなっている。「オレは〜、〇〇」の形で大げさに自己紹介するときに、冗談で使うこともある。
Detective Conan is Gosho Aoyama's manga, begun in 1994, and the TV anime has aired since 1996. The narration goes on: if they learn Shinichi is alive, they will come after him again, so he hides who he is, calls himself Edogawa Conan, and moves into Ran's home, where her father works as a detective. The wording differs a little between the TV series and each film, and in the films it grows longer to fit the story. It may also be used as a joke, in the form オレは〜、(name), to introduce yourself dramatically.
