In Hikaru no Go, Shinichiro Isumi says this after coming back from China, in the part of the story where he asks Hikaru Shindo, who has been avoiding Go, to play a game with him. He means that becoming a professional player is a target, but not the end of the road.

Isumi is an older friend of Hikaru's from their days as insei (pro candidates), and he had failed the pro exam before, so the words carry weight. The line may also be quoted after passing an exam or at a graduation, to say that the real journey starts now.

•「目標」= a target, an aim. •「だけど」= but. •「ゴール」= the finish line. •「ずっと」= all the way, on and on. •「続いている」= continues (〜ている = an ongoing state).

目標 and ゴール can both be translated as "goal". Here, 目標 is something you aim at, while ゴール is the point where the race ends. Isumi uses the difference on purpose.
