Voice sample:
English Translation:
Hey, miss, are you the type who puts green onions in your natto?
Original Scene & Cultural Context
Scene in the Original Work:
A running gag. When Shinnosuke sees a pretty young woman, in town or at the shops, he walks up to her and asks this as his pick-up line. The question has nothing to do with dating, so the women are usually left puzzled and don't know how to answer.
Cultural Context:
Shinnosuke loves pretty older girls and often tries to pick them up, and this odd question is his set opener. The wording changes a little, such as 〜タイプ? or 〜方?, and the exact first appearance is uncertain. A similar question also appears in the spoken part of the opening theme 「オラはにんきもの」. おねいさん is his childish way of writing お姉さん. Since people have strong opinions about how to eat natto, it may also be used as a joke to start a conversation.

Trap for English Speakers
お姉さん is used for any young woman, not only your own sister. But calling a stranger お姉さん can sound overly familiar, like a street tout or a pick-up line. The standard spelling is おねえさん; おねいさん is a childish spelling.
