Shinnosuke is a five-year-old at Futaba Kindergarten who lives in Kasukabe, Saitama, with his parents, his little sister Himawari and his dog Shiro. Crayon Shin-chan started as a manga by Yoshito Usui, and the TV anime has run since 1992, but he stays five years old. He says this so often in the series and films that there is no single source scene. オラ is a rural-sounding "I" that suits his cheeky, carefree character. オラ is not standard Japanese; outside a joke it sounds childish, or like an imitation of Shin-chan or Goku. In a real self-introduction, say 私は〇〇です or 〇〇と申します. In casual writing, 歳 is also written 才.
