In Dragon Quest III (1988), the hero's party flies on the phoenix Ramia to the Archfiend Baramos's castle in Necrogond, which cannot be reached by land or sea. Baramos greets them with "So, you have come this far at last," mocks them for daring to defy him, tells them to regret coming, and ends with this threat just before the battle begins.
