In the final battle of the Buu arc, Goku is not strong enough to beat Kid Buu, so Vegeta suggests a Spirit Bomb made with energy from everyone on Earth. Through King Kai, Goku and Vegeta call out to all the people on Earth, but they doubt the strange voice and few raise their hands. Only when Mr. Satan calls out does the energy gather, and Goku's giant Spirit Bomb wipes out Buu.

The Spirit Bomb gathers a little energy from living things around you, and Goku asks for it each time he uses it, against Vegeta, Frieza and Buu. 「オラに元気をわけてくれ!」 is the short form fans remember; the manga lines are longer, such as 「このオラに ほんのちょっとずつだけ 元気をわけてくれ」 in the fight with Vegeta. It may also be used as a joke when you are worn out and want cheering up.

•「オラ」= "I", a country-style word Goku uses. •「元気」= energy, vitality. •「わける(分ける)」= to share, to give part of something. •「〜てくれ」= casual request: "give me ~, please".

= How are you?), but here it means energy you can give away. 〜てくれ sounds blunt; to a friend, 〜てくれる? is softer, and to a boss, use 〜てください.
