In the Mugen Train arc, just after the battle on the train, Akaza of the Upper Moons appears and attacks the wounded Tanjiro. Rengoku stops him. Akaza says he hates weak humans, adds "Let me make a wonderful proposal," and asks this. Rengoku refuses at once: "I won't!" Akaza keeps urging him, "Become a demon, Kyojuro," and their fight begins.

Akaza is obsessed with strength and invites strong fighters he respects to become demons. The line is sometimes remembered as 「杏寿郎、お前も鬼にならないか」, but the line itself has no name in it; he calls Rengoku by name later, as in 「鬼になろう杏寿郎」. It may also be used as a joke to invite someone to a hobby or club, as in 「お前も〇〇にならないか?」.

•「お前」= rough "you". •「も」= too, also. •「〜になる」= to become ~. •「〜ないか?」= a negative question used as an invitation: "why don't you ~?"

〜ないか? looks negative, but it is an invitation, not a doubt. The polite form is 〜ませんか?, as in 一緒に行きませんか? ("Won't you come with me?").
