鼓屋敷編。臆病な善逸は、少年・正一と一緒に、長い舌を持つ鬼に追いつめられ、恐怖で気を失う。眠ったまま目を閉じて構えた善逸はこの技名を口にし、一瞬で鬼の首を斬る。目を覚ました善逸は、自分が倒したことを覚えていない。
In the Drum House, the cowardly Zenitsu and a young boy, Shoichi, are cornered by a demon with a long tongue, and Zenitsu faints from fear. Still asleep, with his eyes closed, he takes his stance, says this, and cuts off the demon's head in a flash. When he wakes up, he does not remember doing it.
文化的な背景：
善逸は育手の桑島慈悟郎のもとで、雷の呼吸のうち壱ノ型しか習得できず、それを極限まで磨いた。のちに「六連」「八連」「神速」へと進化させていく。「〇の呼吸 〇ノ型 技名」と続けて言うのが鬼滅の刃の技の定番の形で、ごっこ遊びなどでまねすることもある。
