Here, eat my face.
In the TV anime, when Anpanman finds someone who is hungry, such as a child lost in the forest or an animal with nothing to eat, he tears off a piece of his own bread head and holds it out with this line. With part of his face gone he becomes weaker, and Baikinman often attacks right then. Uncle Jam later bakes him a new face.
This scene is repeated in countless episodes, so there is no single source scene. Author Takashi Yanase, who lived through the war, believed the one kind of justice that never changes is giving food to the hungry, so he drew a hero who shares his own face even if it hurts him. Some people remember the line as 「ぼくの顔をお食べよ」. It may also be used as a joke when sharing a bite of your bread.
•「お+verb stem」(お食べ) = a gentle command, said to a child or someone below you. •「顔を」= (my) face as the object. •「ぼく」= a soft, boyish "I".
お食べ sounds kind but talks down a little, like a parent to a child. Do not say it to a boss or a guest; say
