Cultural Context:

Zoma first appears at the victory party in Aliahan Castle, after the hero has defeated Baramos, who everyone thought was the final enemy. This cold, poetic speech, which calls destruction a joy and the dying beautiful, ends with the strangely gentle "in my arms", and made him one of the most popular villains in the series. In the Famicom version the text is written in kana. The first sentence alone may also be used, half-jokingly, about yourself when you are struggling hard with work or a diet.

Trap for English Speakers

なにゆえ and 〜がよい sound like an old king or a villain speaking from above. In daily talk, use なぜ or どうして for "why", and 〜するといいよ for advice, as in 早く寝るといいよ. 息絶える is a literary word for dying, used in novels, not in conversation.
