In volume 55 of Mitsuteru Yokoyama's Sangokushi, during Zhuge Liang (Kongming)'s northern campaigns, the Shu army suddenly breaks camp. The Wei general Zhang He sees this and urges a pursuit, but Sima Yi, who deeply fears Kongming's schemes, holds him back with this line.

Cultural Context:
In the work, not only Sima Yi but also Cao Cao and other enemies of Kongming say 孔明の罠 many times. Online, this panel spread as a meme for being so suspicious that you can't act, or for a player falling into an unexpected trap in a game. Most stories of Kongming outwitting Sima Yi are said to be later fiction rather than history. It may also be used as a joke in front of an offer that seems too good to be true.
