2018年の映画『名探偵コナン ゼロの執行人』のクライマックス。無人探査機「はくちょう」のカプセルが、警視庁に向かって落ちようとしていた。それを止めるため、建設中のビルから安室の車で飛び出す直前、コナンは「前から聞きたかったんだけど、安室さんって彼女いるの?」と尋ねる。安室は不敵に笑い、こう答える。

Cultural Context:

Toru Amuro is a private detective who works at Café Poirot, below Kogoro Mouri's office, and calls himself Kogoro's apprentice. His real name is Rei Furuya, and he is a police officer in the secret public security unit nicknamed Zero, which gives the film its title. The film, centered on him, became a huge hit, and some fans who fell for him called themselves 安室の女 (Amuro's women). It may also be used, half-jokingly, to dodge a question about your love life by naming your work or hometown instead.

Grammar & Learning Points

Grammar Point

•「僕の」= my (僕 is a casual, mostly male "I"). •「恋人」= lover, boyfriend or girlfriend. •「は」= topic marker. •「この国」= this country. •「さ」= casual sentence-ending particle with a light, confident tone.
日本語で読む
•「僕の」は「私の」の男性的な言い方。•「恋人」は恋愛関係にある相手。•「は」は話題を示す助詞。•「この国」は自分が住むこの国、日本のこと。•「さ」は軽く言い切る、くだけた終助詞。

Trap for English Speakers

Conan asks about a 彼女 (girlfriend), and Amuro answers with 恋人, a general word for a romantic partner. 彼女 can also just mean "she," so context decides. さ at the end sounds cool and casual, so it does not fit polite conversation.
日本語で読む
コナンは「彼女」がいるかを聞いたが、安室は恋愛相手を広く指す「恋人」で答えている。「彼女」は「あの女性」という意味にもなるので、文脈で判断する。文末の「さ」はくだけて気取った響きがあり、丁寧な会話には合わない。
