In the opening of the TV anime, after a short look at the story, Conan himself speaks to the viewers: "Seeing through the one and only truth..." and ends with this line. Conan is high school detective Shinichi Kudo, whose body shrank to a child's after he was given a poison drug. The line has been used since episode 31 (1996).

Cultural Context:
The line sums up the idea of the whole series in two short parallel phrases: a child's body with an adult's mind. Up to episode 30 the opening ended with 「真実はいつもひとつ！」 instead, and the movies open with different words. It may also be used as a joke about a child who talks like an adult, or turned around, as in 「見た目は大人、頭脳は子供」, to tease an adult who acts childish.
