Ponyo, a fish girl, licked blood from Sosuke's cut finger and began to speak human words. Taken back under the sea by her father Fujimoto, who forbids her to become human, she shouts this at him, followed by "Ponyo will become human!" Then arms and legs sprout from her body, and she starts to change into a near-human form.
The short words of a small child show love at its most direct. At the voice recording, director Hayao Miyazaki is said to have praised the pause between 宗介 and 好き. Since Ponyo loves ham in the film, the line may also be twisted as a joke, like 「ポニョ、ハム好き!」, to say you love something.
•「宗介好き」= 宗介が好き with the particle が dropped. • Ponyo calls herself by her own name instead of わたし, like a small child. • Very short words with no polite ending.
Calling yourself by your own name sounds cute from a small child but childish from an adult. Also, 好き can mean "like" or "love" depending on context.
