Episode 1. At the spaceport of the Green Noa colony, high school student Kamille is called by his name. Jerid, a Titans officer, hears it and mutters, "Huh, it's a guy." Kamille punches him and shouts this line. He is held for attacking a Titans officer, and this leads him to steal the Gundam Mk-II.

Kamille has a feminine-sounding name (Camille is also a French woman's name) and is sensitive about it. Jerid's offhand remark sets off his anger and starts the whole story. Some fans say his real anger came less from the name itself than from being looked down on as a man. It may also be quoted as a joke when someone's name makes people guess the wrong gender.

•「AがBで何で悪いんだ」= What's wrong with A being B? (a defiant rhetorical question). •「〜んだ」= adds strong emotion. •「俺は男だよ」= I'm a man!

何で means "why", but here the sentence is not a real question. It means "There's nothing wrong with it!", so answering with a reason would miss the point.
