In episode 1, a giant Gunmen attacks the underground village. Kamina urges Simon to pilot the small mecha that Simon dug up, but Simon is too scared. Kamina shouts, "Don't believe in yourself! Believe in me! Believe in me, who believes in you!!" and Simon finally starts the mecha up.
