Episode 12. At the state funeral for Garma Zabi, who died in battle, his brother Gihren gives a speech to the people of Zeon. He turns their grief into anger at the Federation and repeats this line, ending with 「ジーク・ジオン!」.

The speech is a classic example of propaganda: Gihren uses his own brother's death to push the war forward. Char, watching it on TV at a bar, says 「坊やだからさ」 about Garma, which became just as famous. The line may also be used as a joke when calling on people to take action, for example to get coworkers moving.

•「立て」= command form of 立つ (to stand up, to rise). •「よ」= adds force to the command. •「国民」= the people of a nation.

立つ means "to stand", but here it means "to rise up and act", as in a call to arms. The command form 立て is very strong and sounds harsh in daily conversation.
