A running gag in the series. Edward is very sensitive about being short. When someone says he is small, or even seems to, he blows up and shouts this, turning the remark into a much worse insult than anyone said. In the first chapter, for example, the people of Lior take his big armored brother Al for the famous Fullmetal Alchemist, and Ed, treated as the small one, explodes.
