A manga by Fujiko F. Fujio (credited at the time to the duo Fujiko Fujio), first serialized in 1967 in magazines including Weekly Shonen Sunday, with a new series starting in 1983. An ordinary boy, Mitsuo Suwa, receives a mask, a cape and a badge from a hero from space and becomes Perman No. 1, while a copy robot takes his place at home so that no one learns his secret. TV anime versions began in 1967 and in 1983.
