In the first episode of the 2020 sequel, Akira Owada, Hanzawa's old rival, has stayed at the bank thanks to President Nakanowatari, even after his wrongdoing came to light. Now loyal to the president, Owada comes to his office and says this, and Nakanowatari smiles, pleased.

Cultural Context:
The line twists Hanzawa's famous 「やられたらやり返す。倍返しだ！」 into words of thanks. Coming from Owada, the villain who knelt before Hanzawa at the end of the first series, it surprised viewers, and with Teruyuki Kagawa's over-the-top acting it became a much-talked-about line. It may also be used as a joke when returning a favor, such as treating a friend back.
